Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping clinical and operational workflows across healthcare—but with innovation often comes risk. This session examines how AI is currently being used in healthcare organizations, highlighting both its
potential benefits and the regulatory, legal, and ethical challenges it introduces. Attendees will gain practical strategies for governing AI responsibly, mitigating risk, and ensuring safe, compliant, and ethical use within their practices.

 

 

 

Beena Thomas, BSN, RN, CPHRM​​​​​​

Senior Risk Consultant, Curi Insurance

Beena Thomas is a Senior Risk Consultant with Curi Insurance, the dedicated insurance arm of Curi. As a Senior Risk Consultant, Beena collaborates with clients to assess and manage professional liability risks. Prior to Curi, Beena gained more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, managing risk and claims activities for physician practices and hospital systems. She has also practiced clinical nursing and served in various healthcare leadership and administrative roles. Beena holds a BS in Nutrition from Cornell University and a BSN from Pace University.
